The 2nd show in the Stade de France, each one awaited a different setlist compared to the day before, but except Out Of Control which replaces I Will Follow it is a large disappointment for everyone, with even a song in less, All I Want is You...
U2.com announced Bad in the setlist, but there again, disappointment...
By the way the performance of this show is better than the day before, and certainly one of the most emoving versions of Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own is played this evening, with a snippet from now on traditionnal Black Hills Of Dakota but more especially an operatic aria, Torna has Surriento of Ernesto de Curtis.
The sound used here is the best in circulation at the moment this dvd was carried out, namely source DAT recorded by Stanislas. Unfortunately, the quality of this bootleg is as so good as the one of July 9, especially because of some guys who take pleasure to howl on slow parts of the show, like the snippets of Sometimes You Can't Make It One Your Own, which they completely waste ... But when the public does not obstruct, the sound is quite clear, Bono's voice is perfectly audible and without echo. A very good sound for a dvd, environment in premium.
The picture quality is variable according to cameras', a general way, very clear, except obviously for films resulting from numerical cameras. In all the cases, each source results from its Master tape > DVD.
Mix of 7 cameras (5 miniDV and 1 Hi8mm) and of some digicams, hardest for this dvd was to make it complete.... Because none films used is complete, the majority is during between 30 min and 1 hour, and that often falls on the same titles, the 6 first ones....
Thus, over the first 30 minutes of this dvd, not time to be bored, the 7 cameras are there, the realization is quite dynamic. But after Love and Peace or Else, the situation is spoiled, and the video is mainly Fredburgo tape which saves really this dvd while enabling him to be complete. The worst titles, not having almost any film, are One, All because Of You, and With Or Without You which it mainly filmed by 2 digicams, not very pretty to see, but at least it is there. When Fanny arrives on stage, the businesses are arranged and the digicams multiply finally !
Individual description Coconut tape (MiniDV) 1st DV that it was given to me to see for this concert, filmed by the same taper than the 2 Bercy 2001. Large disappointment however, only the first 33 minutes are filmed, safety was not tender with this concert, and Coconut is not the only victim. Filmed from Edge side (with 8:00, in rather low steps), the zooms are unfortunately rare, yes, in stadium one is immediately far.
