Mixer notes :
I produced this matrix recording using the overlapping mix paste feature on Cool Edit 2000. The same flaws that are audible on "Miami 2 Earpiece" are evident on this bootleg as well, but to a lesser extent due to the audience recording that is blended in. So the crackles and bursts of static that can be heard as the taper of the earpiece recording adjusts the signal scanner are a bit softer on this bootleg. Also, because the earpiece recording has a considerable drop in volume during a thirty second portion of "Walk On", this recording suffers the same fate.

You have no idea how difficult it is to produce one of these matrix recordings until you try it yourself. The two source recordings were not exactly the same length, so I had to divide each up into small segments (approximately 2-3 minutes) and stretch one so that it matched up precisely with the other. This usually involved only very minor changes (for example, lengthening a 3 minute segment by .05 seconds), but the two would not blend properly otherwise. There are still a few segments that sound like they may be a tiny bit off...but it might just be all of the cymbals and other instruments that the listener associates with the beat of the music combining with the metronome that can be heard in Bono's earpiece.
