This show is the one following the seconds San Diego show which wasn't satisfying.
The setlist is totally reshaped. Bonos voice is better than during the second San Dieg show. However it stay quite high-pitched (too high in some songs).
Love And Peace Or Else is introduce by some jets engine noises. The begining of the show is quite hard & "claimed".
Bono doesn't speak a lot to the audience during the first part of the show. The band link the songs.
The bad offers us a crazy version of Miracle Drug.
At the end of Beautiful day Bono sings again his "Goal is soul" of the l'Elevation Tour.
On Pride (In The Name Of Love) U2 singer start to preach (there's not others words) like he rarely did on this songs. Bono still preaching on the beginning of Where The Streets Have No Name & start to sing some words in african style. It's very successfful (very very good Where The Streets Have No Name, the transition between the 2 songs is great).
Before One Bono still with his speeches, he say again roughly what he already say on the 2 previous songs "lol". With a casual air, Bono speaks during more than 2min30 before starting to sing. One is also very good.
On Zoo Station Bono changes 75% of the original lyrics... It's not necessarily the most beautiful effect.
The Fly tear to. Nice introduction, Bono who is in character (scraping his throat like he did Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me during the Popmart Tour.
Elevation is certainly one of the best live version of this song. Bono sing it in playing with the audience in a "Love Comes To Town" spirit.
On Mysterious ways Bono (on fire) welcome a girl called Tiphanie on stage.
On City Of Blinding Lights Edge offers us an intro in the Where The Streets Have No Name style (better intro than the album version of the song).
At the beginning of Vertigo Bono say "un, deux, trois, quatre" (one, two, three, four in french)
To sum up: a very good show, with a very good sound & a Bono on fire from Miracle Drug. Indeed the band is a little bit too freeze at the beginnig but after they play freely. We will regret 2 things : the forgetting of Zoo Station lyrocs & the audience is little bit quiet. |
