Taper's location : Inside the Ellipse, 15-20 feet in front of The Edge.

Taper's notes :
As you can imagine for a show with both Pearl Jam and U2 fans bumping and grinding, the Ellipse was pretty lively. Therefore, there is quite a bit of audience interaction captured on this recording. Near the beginning of the show you'll hear a guy in front of me figuring out that I am taping. He very politely showed great consideration for my activities for the rest of the show (thank you!). A few others speak to me during the show, but nothing is too distracting and the show is quite listenable. The audience singers near me could carry a tune (for the most part anyway) and they are certainly present throughout the recording. Fortunately, clapping rarely overwhelms the sound.

My beautiful wife became a part of U2 history in a small way by being the person who found the white guitar pic that Rocko and the Devils threw into the audience after their fabulously funny and "livin' it up" set as the show's opener. I collected a Pearl Jam pic during their set (they threw out at least a couple dozen), but we couldn't complete the trifecta as no pic from the Edge was secured. Oh well, I can't have EVERYTHING now can I?

Venting moment #1: A big F-You to the A-Hole who pushed his way up front dragging his mostly silent but conspiratorial wife along with him and taunting Zootopians along the way by saying he had arrived at 11:00 a.m. that day and "doesn't that just burn you up" and he "didn't care one bit about any honor system" for fan placement in line or in the Ellipse, etc. etc. He was rude and obnoxious and one of the biggest dickheads I have ever met. A friend took his pic, which I'll post so we can all see who this anti-Zootopian is. He does not belong among us, but being the nice people we are, I am sure we'll all move on...

Venting moment #2: Another big F bomb to the few people in corral #1 who made an issue of and subsequently forced Hans and his fiancé to leave the corral after being gone for 5 hours. Yes, the rule was no more than 2 hours, BUT COME ON - these are the two people that organized the Lokahi-One sign effort for the cancelled April show and then organized the entire "An INSPI(RED) NIGHT AT THE ALOHA STADIUM effort [i.e. all the people wearing Product (RED)]. They were gone because of the dinner cruise they also arranged for U2 fans. Gimmie a break - the folks who got a guard and had them kicked out should be ashamed of yourselves for not taking better care of these two very generous people. I was VERY happy to see them at the front, on the rail in the Ellipse once they got inside. Some real Zootopians knew what had happened and showed some honor in bringing them back up to the front. I hope the two of you finally got to enjoy the show after so much hard work ;-).

I was sorry to see/hear about both of these incidents and the complete lack of common decency they showed. It is a good thing I also met dozens of beautiful people at this show and made some great new friends. Hello Vince and Lori! Because of people like you, my faith in humanity remains strong and I am happy to share this recording.

Oh yes, DO NOT SELL; INSTEAD, SHARE LOSSLESS VERSIONS FREELY. Join the One campaign. Purchase Product (Red) items. But most importantly, rock on!
