"A live session for 'The Tube' includes performances by Big Country, The Undertones, and U2. Bono is interviewed briefly before starting a five song set in front of a small studio audience. U2's official fan club in the UK, 'U2 Info', has invited fifty members from the Newcastle area to attend. The group perform before the War backdrop and the flags and there is a catwalk running into the crowd which Bono frequently uses. During I Will Follow around 25 fans jump on stage, resulting in a joyous dance across the catwalk. Two days later the first three songs are broadcast, while I Will Follow is aired on June 24, 1983. The performance of 40 remains unknown." |
