I soon discovered that for some reason the intro and Zoo Station seemed to be from a different tape and the rest of the show from another, which resulted in those two first tracks sounding slow. So I re-fixed those tracks, and since no one offered to help I had to go on my own ears. I have provided a sample of Zoo Station (source 1) and one of Bad (source 2) so you can be the judge. If anything, I think source 1 is the inferior one and the rest of the show (source 2) sounds better. Perhaps, for whatever reason, the person who made this was forced to use a different cassette for the first 2 songs, I really can't say.
This is an excellent recording from the Outside Broadcast tour in Vancouver. Night two of two, both of which were recorded. The sound could be a little closer, and audience noise is noticeable, but this is a very nice recording. There are noticeable people (maybe 2 or 3) who sing along during some songs, which gets annoying. The girl singing along during Angel of Harlem sings way off key. There is a fade out after Wild Rover and then Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World fades in. Nothing is lost however, I don't know why the fades are there. There is a little cut between With or Without You, but nothing is really lost. Dancing Queen sounds like it features Larry, and it sounds like Adam speaks the line in When Love Comes to Town. A very well-performed show, with an excellent vocal performance, one of the best Outside Broadcast shows I've heard. |
