Oh my God, what an amount of mistakes. I was there, I know the real story.
First: it was not snowing that day. It had been snowing for 4 days in a row from the 15th to the 18th of january. The 120 cm of snow were the cause of the collapse of the roof of the Palazzetto dello Sport were the concert was originally planned.
So they were forced to move to the teatro Tenda, a circus tent able to contain 5.000 people seated. The problem was that, at that time , at least 7.000 tickets were already sold. So they moved all the seats and the audience was as packed as fishes in a metal box. That's it.
